Find your identity in the secret place.
Isaiah 32:18-20 NLT “My people will live in safety, quietly at home. They will be at rest. Even if the forest should be destroyed and the city torn down, the Lord will greatly bless his people. Wherever they plant seed, bountiful crops will spring up. Their cattle and donkeys will graze freely.”
Practicing God's presence is important for every believer to discern what is of him and what is not. In the earlier stages of my walk with the Lord, anyone could tell me anything, and I would assume they were right. I found out that much of what I was told did not align with scripture or God's will for me.
The idea of assuming you know nothing when you are a babe in Christ should change as you mature in the Lord. Paul said it best; "I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able." 1 Corinthians 3:2
When your foundation is firm, you won't be moved by any wind of doctrine.
There are many ways to confirm God's will for you. It takes discipline and consistency to know and understand the mind of God. The ability to hear his voice is not limited to the Fivefold offices but to every blood-bought child of God.
The Lord taught me to be a woman, wife, and mother. He used people and teachings, of course. But what I gained from the people He allowed to speak into my life over the years made me unique. Not the carbon copy of my mentors.
We must be aware of this bipolar syndrome in the Body of Christ. The Bible does not support doctrines that teach believers to imitate their leaders. All scriptures point us to the Lord. The scriptures say to imitate Christ.
You are God's possession.
It took years of healing, seeking the Lord, and allowing his word to penetrate my hardened heart. There was a lot of displacement that needed to take place in my life. After many adventures with the Lord, I became aware of the nature of my Father. My confidence came from Him.
The Lord does the same in the life of every believer. It may take some time to undo the damage to your soul and renew your mind. That process is necessary to mature your mandate. The Lord is patient in grooming every one of us into the people he needs us to be.
Before we start this process, we need to examine ourselves. We must acknowledge our faulty foundation before we can submit to the pruning of the Lord. As passionate as we may be to serve the Lord, our convictions are contaminated.
The laws of the world and our upbringing stand in the way of what God wants to do in our lives.
Everyone the Lord sends you to will aid in your development. You must believe that you are set apart. You must invest in maturing in his ways and what he has in mind for you. When you know the perfect will of God, you will be able to separate what is your will, man's will, from the devil's agenda.
Many believers fail not because they are not qualified. They fail because they imitate others and fall short. Many give up because they don't measure up to the anointing their mentors flow in. We are not meant to operate the same way; it stunts the growth of believers.
Your anointing is unique to you and the people you are meant to reach.
Every one of the twelve disciples was trained by Jesus. Yet they all functioned differently. The enemy wants you to be confused about your identity.
How can you know your unique identity in Christ if you're transformed to imitate someone else? That makes a dysfunctional believer. This makes you performance-oriented.
God the Father wants you to be confident in who were are. He does not share his glory with anyone. He may use man to help you along the way. But it is not for their meriFeel free to gleam from your mentors, but allow the Holy Spirit to shape you.
Here is how you can identify God's will for your life. Isaiah 38
1. He brings you to safety. Oppression is not of the Lord.
2. He gives you rest. Strive is the work of the devil.
3. He delights in blessing you even in drought and chaos. Lack is not your portion.
4. Your seeds will bring a bountiful harvest. Every seed you sow in the name of the Lord is blessed.
5. Everything that concerns you is blessed. Do not accept curses of any kind.
Child of God, you must know your father in the secret place.
There will come a time in your walk with the Lord when your relationship with him will be tested. Your faith and knowledge of him will go through the fire. You must be ready to stand against all else and say no, this is not of my Father.
Jesus went through the same test before his ministry. Paul had the encounter with the Lord to turn his ministry around. You will have the same encounter with him as you continue your journey.
The Lord is taking your higher in every area of your life. Get in his presence to confirm his will for your life. Get in the word and renew your mind with teaching that edifies and builds up your faith. Finally, connect with people who will encourage and stir up the gifts of the spirit in you.
