The application of the armor of God.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
The weapons of our warfare are mighty. The more I study the word to more I discover truths I had not noticed before. The word of God is the most powerful weapon on earth. However, knowing the scriptures without application makes us weak. The church is not weak; it is the most powerful nation on earth. Psalm 40:8 I am happy to do your will, O my God.”Your teachings are deep within me. God’s presence is a response to our right standing with Him.
It is time we rise with power and authority. We are sons of God. We are priests. We must go from quoting scriptures to bearing fruit. Quoting scriptures without hitting the expected target is like having a loaded gun and not knowing how to use it to defend ourselves against attacks. Psalm 48:The Lord is great and is to be highly praised in the city of our God, on his sacred hill. 2 Zion, the mountain of God, is high and beautiful; the city of the great king brings joy to all the world. 3 God has shown that there is safety with him inside the fortresses of the city.
This was my story. I quoted scriptures, yet I felt ineffective as a prophet in office. I once held the position of the dean of a prophetic school, and it bothered me that so many leaders were going through the most horrific circumstances. That hit home for me in 2023. I had to live what I taught people to overcome. I cried out to the Lord for help, asking him to show me what I was missing so I could help his people navigate the issues they shared with me and the issues I was facing privately. Since then, I have been on a journey to uncover the truth and not live in ignorance. Only when we get to the point of saying James 1:22 tells us; Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
In this blog, I want us to dive into the application of the armor of God to see real results. Our heavenly Father has provided blueprints, left testimonies of failures and trials, and it is now time for us to debunk, repent, and turn away from false teachings that limited us from walking in the supernatural. The church is a well-functioning City. In God’s city, there is self-sufficiency. After this blog, I want us to leave informed of our jurisdiction, to fight effectively, and to claim our inheritance in Christ. Genesis 49:25 because of your father’s God, who helps you, because of the Almighty,[a] who blesses you with blessings of the skies above, blessings of the deep springs below, blessings of the breast and womb.
Before we go into the weapons of our warfare, I want to linger in Genesis 49:25 for a few minutes. According to the text, there are three realms of blessings. The heavens, the earth, and the woman. Blessings are a complete expression of the Godhead. These three realms generate everything it needs to sustain themselves. Genesis 1:12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. God expects us to function from a place of worship, power, and wealth. God’s people suffered greatly due to a lack of knowledge and understanding of the operations of the kingdom of God concealed in the Old Testament that was revealed in the New Testament.
There are secrets embedded in the Word of God that can only be revealed when we allow the Holy Spirit to bring clarity to the scriptures. The natural man can’t understand the mysteries of the Kingdom of God. Galatians 4:8 When you didn’t know God, you were slaves to things which are really not gods at all. 9 But now you know God, or rather, God knows you. So how can you turn back again to the powerless and bankrupt principles of this world? Child of God, renounce the indoctrination of the world and darkness to discover the wonders of the Kingdom of God.
God gave us principles to live by and complete armor to overcome the systems of the world. So how does the armor of God protect us when circumstances present themselves? Ephesians 6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
The Belt of Truth: holds our lives together. Truth is the foundation of the Kingdom of God. God rules with truth, justice, and mercy. Without truth, everything falls apart. Our deceitful hearts lead us away from the gospel of truth. Rejection, trauma, hurt, and unforgiveness speak louder than the Holy Spirit. Our experience defines our present realities. Fear makes decisions that destroy vision.
The Breastplate of Righteousness: protects the heart and vital organs. Most believers live in the identity of their natural parents and heritage, forsaking their spiritual identity in Christ. They believe the lie that their worth comes from the wealth or lack thereof of their family assigned to them by birth. Many carry shame, condemnation, and generational ideologies that hinder them from tapping into our heavenly account.
The Shoes of Peace is a spiritual force. It keeps us steady in the midst of chaos. Scripture teaches us how to respond in times of conflict in relationships. Peace allows us to receive correction rather than taking offence. It helps us navigate pressures. Jesus left His peace with us. He understands life can get hard. Peace is having confidence in God when life gets overwhelming.
The Shield of Faith: protects your mind. It deflects lies. Faith blocks intrusive thoughts that indicate you are under attack. Faith in who God made you to be prevents you from comparing and doubting yourself. Faith keeps you from being swayed by every wind of doctrine. It keeps you steady when it is unpopular to stand against the masses. The enemy only needs you to believe a lie to cause you to self-sabotage.
The Helmet of Salvation: is your identity in Christ. Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Salvation is not a one-time event. It is a daily posture. When our minds are renewed, our characters reflect the character of Jesus and produce the fruits of the Spirit in our lives. patience, wisdom, and clarity. It is easy to operate from a place of rest and not burnout when our minds are stayed on Christ Jesus. We lead with clarity and God's confidence with the helmet of salvation securely in place.
DAY 6 — The Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God is both an offensive and defensive weapon. It protects us from every angle. The enemy does not care if we call ourselves Christians. He doesn’t want us to know how strong the church is. He does not want us to walk by the Spirit. His desire is for us to walk by the flesh. 1 John 2:16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. Those who walk by the flesh only strive to have treasures on earth. Sons of God set up treasures in heaven. The word of God gives us wisdom to live an abundant life on earth, all while building our heavenly account.
Whether we pay attention or not, we are in active battle every day. Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence,[a] and violent people have been raiding it. Satan likes to weaken our defences. He looks for our weaknesses to use them against us. Only those who acknowledge weakness and apply the principles of God’s word will violently take their inheritance. The word of God, coupled with prayer, activates the armor of God. You don’t have to walk around with a target on your back. God purposed for us to take dominion in every day of our lives.
The laws of life help us to build momentum in the realm of the spirit and occupy the offices in the earth. We must insist to fulfill our destinies. The Bible makes us strong and aware of the devices of the enemy. God is calling the church to reposition, reclaim, and rebuild. This is the generation of sons of God who will arise and do much more than Jesus said we would do. We are tired of doing church as usual. We want to bear fruit that remains. We are building a legacy of bold believers who, like the Prophets of old, turn nations back to God.
God gave us many promises: Psalm 37: 29 The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever. Our duty is to do what Matthew 6:33 says; But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Wearing the armor of God separates us from the world. We do not walk according to the protocols of the world. God's laws are the highest. His laws override the laws of the earth. Let’s wear the armor with integrity as ambassadors of the kingdom of God.
I leave you with Psalm 24:1-5 The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. 3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
