Change your world with your words.
Proverbs 12:18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
We are a product of our environment.
I love to travel. Every country has its unique culture and resources. One thing remains true for every country. The upper class and impoverished communities are often found side by side. What’s the difference between the two? The people in the affluent areas have a different mindset!
While one community flourishes, the other remains bound by poverty.
Proverbs, chapter 23, verse 7: "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he".
Despite the warnings in the scriptures, many Christians fail to watch their words. They behave like impoverished communities.
Until they begin to believe and speak life, that mindset will continue to shape the world around them. Those who left these communities chose to adopt a different culture. They began to think, speak, act like the rich, and eventually left the old communities behind.
Words have always played a powerful role in creation. They are used to manifest spiritual implications to natural manifestations.
Matthew 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
If you took an account of your life today, what would it say about you?
Twelve years ago, the Lord began a new work in me. My daily complaint was about what I needed to have. The Lord showed me patterns that indicated that I still thought and acted like an unbeliever. The mindset I had was not of a blood-bought child of God.
To become a godly wife, mother, and leader, my life had to align with His word.
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:Our words have the power to cancel everything that does not line up with God’s promises.
What I noticed was my language was of the world.
My thoughts and words were of a person governed under the laws of defeat and death. My environment shaped me back then. I needed to hear and believe a different doctrine to shape the new man in me. With that desire, I started to search for truth.
This is why renewing the mind is vital for every believer.
Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart
I desired to live according to God’s promises.
Nothing changed when I surrounded myself with people with the same mindset. As I sought the Lord for help, He led me to resources and people whose lives emulated His word. My thoughts, words, and actions began to reflect what the Bible says about me.
I now understand that everything formed in the natural has a spiritual origin.
James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Our words are spiritual. They shape our reality, good or bad.
What you think in your heart comes out of your mouth and creates the world around you. You won’t be aware of the words until you desire God. Until your thoughts change, your circumstances remain the same. Life can’t come while you continue to speak death. Like healing won’t come when you speak sickness.
You fail because of your thoughts, beliefs, and words.
1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Your cultural background may have formed your reality before Christ.
But it does not have to remain that way. You have new opportunities in Christ Jesus. What was impossible when you were bound by sin, fear, and shame is now possible. The veil was torn.
Success is steering you in the face. Take it by force.
