Building on God’s Good Plan: Why We Follow Jesus
Imagine a builder who gets a great blueprint to build an amazing house, but he builds it the wrong way. The walls are crooked; the wall is not high enough for a human to fit through it; the door is above the foundation, and you would need a ladder to access it; there are no windows, and the roof leaks.
Do we throw away the original blueprint and say the drawing was bad? No! The blueprint was perfect—the builder made the mistakes. We simply look back at the original plan and fix the house.

1. A Mistake Does Not Mean the Plan is Bad
God created families, fathers, mothers, and leaders to protect and care for us. The Bible says:
"God saw all that He had made, and it was very good." — Genesis 1:31
When people are selfish, they misuse good things and hurt others. When that happens, it is easy to get confused and blame God's original design instead of the person who broke the rules:
Leadership: Sometimes people think, "If a leader was mean to me, then having leaders must be bad." But God never told anyone to be mean. God's plan is for leaders to protect and guide with love.
Fathers and Mothers: Sometimes people think, "If my parents let me down or hurt me, then family itself is broken and useless." But God never commanded parents to be harsh or absent. God created parents to be a safe shelter, full of nurture and wisdom.
Marriage: Sometimes people think, "If a husband or wife broke their promises and caused deep pain, then marriage is a trap." But God never designed marriage for betrayal or control. God designed marriage to be a lifelong team of faithfulness, friendship, and joy.
Correction and Discipline: Sometimes people think, "If someone yelled at me or punished me out of anger, then rules and correction are evil." But God never commanded angry abuse. God uses loving guidance to keep us from falling off dangerous cliffs.
The Church: Sometimes people think, "If people in a church acted like hypocrites or lied, then God and the church cannot be trusted." But God never told His people to be fake or dishonest. God designed the church to be a loving hospital where hurting people find healing.
Jesus explained how rulers of the world get it wrong, and how His followers must get it right:
"You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." — Matthew 20:25–28
Real strength is not about being bossy, bold, or harsh. Real strength is about helping and caring for others.
2. What Real Leadership Looks Like
God shows us what a true leader looks like through Jesus. Jesus is our ultimate example:
He protects and gives:
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her." — Ephesians 5:25
He helps the weak:
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." — Matthew 11:29
He obeys God the Father:
"For I have come down from heaven not to do My will but to do the will of Him who sent Me." — John 6:38
Instead of giving up on families and godly leadership, we teach boys and men to love, protect, and care for others just like Jesus does.
3. Our Simple Mission: Loving God, Helping People
Our goal is simple: help everyone learn the truth of the Bible so they can live peaceful, strong lives. We follow the two main directions that Jesus gave us:
Love God and Love People:
"‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’" — Matthew 22:37–39
Teach Others:
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." — Matthew 28:19–20
Fixing the House Together
If something in your life has been hurt or broken, do not be afraid. God wants to heal your heart and show you His good plan:
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." — Matthew 7:24
When we follow Jesus, our homes become safe, our hearts find peace, and our lives are built on a solid foundation that will never collapse.
